Zita Abreu

Zita Abreu is a sculptor known for her cast bronze works inspired by wildlife and the natural world. Her practice is rooted in close observation, often drawing from her own photography, which allows her to capture a strong sense of movement, character and presence within each piece. There is a strong precision to her work, balanced by a sensitivity that gives the sculptures a distinct sense of life.

Having spent extended periods in southern Spain, particularly near the Doñana National Park, Abreu’s work is deeply informed by her direct engagement with natural environments. Her background in biomedical science further underpins her understanding of structure and form, lending a subtle anatomical awareness to her sculptures. Her work is held in private collections internationally.
