Tony Laverick
Tony has been a professional ceramic artist for over 25 years. He set up his studio in the Staffordshire Moorlands in 1988 after studying ceramics and working in the ceramics industry in Stoke-on-Trent. During that time he was a designer for Coalport China (then part of the Wedgwood Group).
This background gave him a broad appreciation of ceramics and techniques. He is interested in the artware produced by Royal Doulton in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and French potters such as Clement Massier. He is also influenced by Kandinsky, Malevich, Mondrian, Nicholson, Brancusi and Rodchenko, and the designs of Frank Lloyd Wright.
In 2014 he was made a Fellow Member of the Craft Potters Association and in 2015 he was selected to be a member of Contemporary Applied Arts.
