Sophie Harden

Sophie is a professional artist based in Northamptonshire, inspired by her deep passion for animals, both domestic and wild. With travel at the heart of her practice, her creative journeys often revolve around the animals she encounters, including frequent trips to Africa, which provide rich inspiration for her work.

Her contemporary, fluid technique captures the essence of movement, from the dynamic energy of a scene to the delicacy of small brushstrokes that freeze a fleeting moment. Sophie's work often features a striking interplay between white oil and bold background colours or a vibrant, limited palette. This contrast accentuates the play of light, inviting viewers to interpret the subject through minimal yet evocative marks and gestures.

Sophie’s work has been celebrated in prestigious exhibitions, including solo showcases at the Osborne Studio Gallery and appearances as a finalist for Artist of the Year 2024 at The Mall Galleries. She has also exhibited with Art for Youth and hosts private exhibitions across the UK and in Kenya, sharing her distinctive vision with a diverse audience.
