Raised in Brighton, Paula Sharples draws constant inspiration from the coast, while her current home in the Peak District offers a rich source of influence from its dramatic landscapes.

Working on gesso-prepared board with acrylic, inks, and graphite, she blends still life with distant landscapes, evoking the layered depth of Italian frescoes. Her background in textile and ceramic design is evident in her distinctive use of colour and pattern, adding a tactile quality to her work.
