Jacqueline Taber Hon RBA
Jacqueline Taber Hon RBA is a British painter best known for her carefully observed still lifes. Working predominantly in oil, she brings together fruit, flowers, ceramics and other familiar objects in compositions characterised by clarity, balance and a quiet sensitivity to colour and light.
Born in London in 1946, Taber studied art in Paris before moving to Florence, where she spent five years working in picture restoration at the Gabinetto del Restauro at the Uffizi. During this period she also studied at the studio of Signorina Simi, developing a rigorous foundation in drawing and painting.
Taber later settled in Essex, combining her own painting practice with a career in picture restoration. She has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Mall Galleries, and has held solo exhibitions in London and Essex.
She was elected an Honorary Member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 2013.
