Claire's artistic process is deeply rooted in drawing, emphasising the development of her observational and mark-making skills. Her narrative paintings focus on human subjects, still life, interiors and landscapes, often blending these elements within a single composition. She primarily uses watercolour for its versatility and fluidity, dedicating herself fully to one painting at a time to ensure each piece is imbued with a unique spirit and atmosphere. Her work is meticulously crafted, involving extensive research and layering of paint and techniques, from gestural to finely detailed brushwork.
