Chris Myers PRI RBA
Chris Myers PRI RBA, born in London, studied at Maidstone College of Art. After co-founding a design agency, he now works from his studio as a painter and illustrator, primarily using watercolour.
Chris joined the Royal Society of British Artists in 2006 and the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours (RI) in 2009, serving on the RI Council since 2017 and becoming President in 2022. He has exhibited extensively in London, including at the Mall Galleries, Gallery Different, Thompsons Gallery, and the Bankside Gallery, as well as at events like Goodwood Revival, Festival of Speed, Henley Regatta, and internationally in China.
He has held solo shows and been featured in magazines such as ‘The Artist’, ‘Watercolour Artist’, ‘Classic and Sports Car’, ‘Octane’, and ‘The Art of Watercolour’. Awards include the ‘Smith & Williamson Cityscape’ prize, the ‘Matt Bruce RI Memorial Award’, and ‘The Artist’ prize at the RWS Open Exhibition.
Passionate about travel, classic cars, and music, Chris often finds inspiration from his travels. In 2017, he participated in the Samurai Challenge classic car rally in Japan, resulting in many new works. He accepts private commissions from his home studio in East Sussex, where he lives with his wife, Lynda, and they also spend time at their cottage in rural Normandy.
