Cara McKinnon Crawford
Cara is a graduate from the Glasgow School of Art. Her bold yet sensitive mastery of oil paint results in beautiful interpretations of some of Scotland's most iconic land and seascapes.
Cara travels throughout Scotland, often to lesser known corners, from Dunnet Head in the far North, to Wester and Easter Ross, Ardnamurchan and many Scottish islands including Jura, Colonsay, Iona, Gigha and Skye.
Her constant search for unique and individual compositions lead to the dramatic and atmospheric paintings she is associated with. Most of the work is painted on location, where she applies the paint directly onto the canvas.
Her paintings are spontaneous, energetic and uniquely evocative, demonstrating her deep connection with Scotland, capturing all its mystical diversity.
Cara’s work is exhibited globally and sells worldwide. It also hangs in the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh.
“ I paint because of the sheer pleasure and excitement of being able to express how and what I feel about the visual world around me”.
