Bridget Moore NEAC RBA RWS

Bridget Moore NEAC RBA RWS is a British painter whose work draws on memory, imagination and observations from everyday life. Her distinctive paintings often combine intimate domestic scenes with more theatrical imagery, including circuses, fairgrounds and sideshows.

Childhood memories are an important source for Moore, particularly recollections of her grandparents’ home in Whitstable, Kent. Rather than describing these subjects literally, she uses them as a starting point for compositions shaped by colour, atmosphere and a strong sense of place.

Working primarily in gouache, as well as oils and mixed media, Moore is particularly interested in the balance and structure of a composition and the expressive possibilities of colour.

She studied at Medway College of Design, Epsom School of Art and Design and the Royal Academy Schools. Moore is a member of the New English Art Club and Royal Society of British Artists, and was elected a full member of the Royal Watercolour Society in 2015.
