Anne Skinner RSW is a Dundee-based painter and printmaker. A graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, where she studied Drawing and Painting, Anne went on to work as a lecturer in the Fine Art department at Dundee College while continuing to develop her own practice as a visual artist.

Anne’s work explores the fragments of memories and images that remain long after an experience has passed – things half remembered and half forgotten. Drawing inspiration from observation, she seeks to evoke a particular sense of time and place, with recurring subjects including the ever-changing Scottish landscape and the city of Venice.

Working across painting and printmaking, Anne uses a variety of methods and disciplines to capture the essence of her subjects and fleeting moments in time. She has exhibited widely throughout the UK and internationally, including with the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour, the Royal Scottish Academy and the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.

Anne was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) in 2022. Her work is held in the public collections of The McManus Galleries, Dundee and the University of Dundee. Her awards include the RSW Alison Prosser Award and the Langside College Watercolour Award at the Royal Glasgow Institute.
