Lisa was born in Søborg, Denmark. She studied at the Sir John Cass School of Art, Whitechapel, London and then at Camberwell School of Art where she obtained a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design/Book Illustration.

She became a full-time Illustrator with BL Kearley Ltd.,working for numerous clients including Hamlyn, MacMillan, BBC Publications and Puffin Books; and illustrating greetings cards for well known companies. 

Between 1981-83 Lisa worked as an Assistant Art Therapist at Unstead Park Nursing Home in Godalming, Surrey. Since 1983 Lisa has pursued a career as a freelance painter and illustrator of books. She has won numerous prizes and awards for her work.
