Carina was born in 1973 in Gothenburg, Sweden. She was awarded a Diploma Art & Design, University of Wales, Institute Cardiff in 2001. Between 2002-2006 Carina studied for a BSc Hons in Conservation Biology at the University of Aberdeen.

Her paintings are strongly influenced by her Scandinavian roots but it’s the dramatic Scottish landscapes that inspire her to paint. She spends a lot of time walking and being in nature, and her paintings are often based on memories or feelings of a place.
