Born 1968, Asit passed his BA in Fine Arts from the Govt College of Art and Crafts at Khallikote, Orissa and Masters from BHU, Varanasi with distinction.

A semi-realistic painter, his narratives revolve around the human psyche and interpersonal relationships of people in society.

Asit is the recipient of several awards including the National Scholarship & Junior Fellowship from MHRD, The Department of Culture, Govt. of India, in the Field of Fine Arts.

His work is part of the private collection of the President of India, and of several other public and private collections in India, USA, UK, Switzerland, South Korea, UAE, Australia, Bangladesh and South Africa.  He lives and works in New Delhi.
