Born in 1969. Katie Scorgie works in oils and charcoal, capturing the movement, true likeness and essence of a given situation in an unsentimental way, through lively marks, brush strokes and strong drawingKatie’s personal knowledge of horses is extensive and includes a career as a point-to-point jockey. She became a professional equestrian artist in 2000, following her graduation in Fine Art from Plymouth University.
Katie has exhibited extensively and is an Associate of the Society of Equestrian Artists. In 2002 she was a Finalist in the Daily Mail’s ‘Not the Turner Prize’.
Her most notable commission to date has been one of the three Artists in Residence to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment 2011-2012. This resulted in an exhibition at Hyde Park Barracks in April 2012.
