His subjects range from landscapes and coastal scenes to interiors and still lifes, often returning to familiar places that he has drawn and painted over many years.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"isSelectedEnd\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Suffolk coast, particularly Walberswick and the surrounding landscape, has been an enduring source of inspiration. Bowyer is interested in the way repeated observation allows a subject to reveal new possibilities, with changing light and weather continually reshaping his response to a place.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eBorn in London in 1952, Bowyer studied Fine Art at St Martin’s School of Art before continuing his studies at Chelsea School of Art. He was elected to the Royal Watercolour Society in 1991 and served as its President from 2000 to 2003.
