Catriona Millar is considered to be one of Scotland’s leading figurative artists. The Herald newspaper has ranked her amongst the top 5 most collectable Scottish Artists.
“Like a novelist or playwright Catriona Millar brilliantly combines her life experience and her imaginary world in her work. The results are unique and her richly observed, highly recognisable figurative paintings are acclaimed and collected around the world.” The Herald
Catriona trained as a mature student at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen. Her sell-out Degree Show in 2005 gained her both respect and admiration from collectors, critics and leading art galleries. She lives and works in rural Aberdeenshire.
“Full of whit and whimsy. The paintings possess a naive intensity, where colour, texture and scale area as bold as they can be. Subjects have a candid quality; rosy cheeks, pretty patterned clothing and animals feature heavily” Homes and Interiors, Scotland
