Alla was born in the Urals, and graduated in 1984 from the Ryazan Art School. She has a passion for archaeology and participated in archaeological expeditions to the Caucasus and Khakassia. Her interest in the ancient extends into the many years she has spent restoring precious icons and tempera paintings. Her work is imbued with deeply symbolic meaning, as she finds the wonderous and mysterious and translates the balance between reality and fantasy, finding wonder in the everyday.
Her travels to Armenia, Khakassia, Adygea and her studies of ancient cultures colours her work and gives her a unique pictorial vocabulary. Her work can be found in many private collections in Russia, Italy, France, Switzerland and Canada, and since 1989 Alla lives and works in St Petersburg.
