Bob Crooks

Bob Crooks is widely recognised as one of Britain's foremost glassmakers, renowned for his exceptional craftsmanship and ability to create dynamic forms and surfaces.  His work has been exhibited internationally and showcased in prestigious exhibitions across Italy, China, Scandinavia, Australia, and the USA, alongside numerous displays in the UK.

Every piece is meticulously designed, handmade, and finished by Bob himself, without the use of moulds. His creations draw inspiration from various sources, including geometry, architecture, the natural and man-made worlds, as well as the unique qualities and capabilities of glass. Throughout his diverse body of work, Bob skilfully exploits the material's properties, utilising refraction, reflection, sharpness, softness, transparency, opacity, and harnessing its fluidity to freeze it into the desired forms.

Within his range of production pieces, Bob has deliberately developed works that are truly one-of-a-kind, as the nature of different applications makes it impossible to replicate them. These unique pieces have evolved in size, making a more dramatic statement. Despite their large scale, upon closer inspection, they reveal intricate details that captivate the observer. The resulting objects showcase Bob's profound love for the medium, exemplifying his meticulous attention to fine detail.
